EU AI Act (2026)

The European Union’s AI regulation, whose requirements came into force during the FRAMES project (2026). It requires productions to account for AI use and, in part, to produce machine-readable AI marks.

Relevance to FRAMES

  • The paper asks “How do we stay in compliance with the EU AI Act of 2026?” and notes that requirements came into force during the project.
  • Machine-readable AI marks (required by the EU AI Act) began appearing on some AI tools during the project, but never on all of them and never in a form the workflow could gather up, so the team tagged human vs AI-driven assets by hand (in the Streamline platform).
  • The aimici-transparency-framework Level 3 auditable record can include machine-readable AI marks required by the Act.
