Deliverables

The output deliverables of one-small-crawl for the IBC Accelerator 2026 showcase and festival circuit.

Primary deliverable

  • Final film - animated short, 4K UHD (ACES AP1 working, Rec2020), runtime target 5-8 minutes, 5 scenes (one era of film/video history each).
  • Delivery: IBC Accelerator 2026 showcase + festival circuit.

Export / render

Process

  • Conform in resolve - the edit is conformed in DaVinci Resolve from the OTIO editorial timeline (see otio-timeline, animatic-workflow).
  • sRGB/linear color pipeline for the effect timelines - effects work is done on timelines in an sRGB/linear color pipeline, so the VFX/compositing layers are graded and matched in a linear working space (see era-locked-look, ves-good-practices).
  • Finish in ACES - the conformed, effect-completed timelines are finished in ACES (ACES AP1 working space, Rec2020 primaries) to deliver both an HDR and an SDR version of the film.

Master QC

The finished HDR and SDR masters are checked before delivery (see ves-good-practices for the color discipline these checks enforce).

  • Color decisions in the screening room - HDR and SDR masters are graded and QC’d in the screening room, not at an artist’s desktop: the master must be signed off under the display environment it is aimed at.
  • Per-version monitoring - the HDR master is viewed/monitored on an HDR display (its mastering display) and the SDR master on an SDR reference monitor; never QC one version’s look on the other’s display.
  • Display transform never baked in - masters are checked in the working space and conformed to the deliverable encoding at export; the scene-referred master keeps the output/display transform out of the graded image.
  • No harm to the plate - QC verifies VFX regions integrate and untouched plate regions are unmodified; round-trip test unmodified pixels match the original plate for the DI.
  • Technical QC - codec/container conformance, resolution, frame rate, bit depth, audio sync/silence/true-peak, and that no illegal values or clipping result from the ACES AP1/Rec2020 finish.
  • Sign-off - the one-small-crawl team + post/color reviewers approve each master (HDR and SDR) before it is logged to the OMC sidecar and delivered.

File naming

  • Deliverable files follow the production-wide naming-schema (OSC v1.0), which extends TR-VFX-IS with asset origin, agent/vendor codes, era codes, and the OMC version model - every deliverable name encodes its full provenance.
  • Per VES/ETC good practice (see ves-good-practices): version by revision (never by shot number), fix the fixed fields first, keep the filename independent of its directory, and use only the allowed character set.
  • Example deliverable stem: osc_sc02_0100_cmp_gen_a003_v003_ntrl_snail-walk.1001.exr (see naming-schema for the full syntax).
