AI Agent Pipeline (ARC + Generation)

The hybrid production pipeline of One Small Crawl: authentic archival footage retrieved by agents, AI-generated character/VFX layers, and human compositing. Agents operate under the Agent Production Bible with approval tokens and audit trails.

ARC pipeline (Scenes 1-4 backgrounds)

AGT-016 ARC Retrieval -> searches archives for era-authentic footage
AGT-019 Enhancement   -> upscales, stabilizes, inpaints modern elements
AGT-003 Gen-Video     -> generates Snail character animation layer
AGT-011 Color Pipeline-> era-matches color between archive + AI layers
COMPOSITE (human VFX artist in Nuke/[resolve](../entities/tools/resolve.md))

AGT-002/003 Gen-Image/Video from prompts + style refs (Snail character, sc03 color transition, sc05).

Alpha-channel protocol

Snail generated on transparent alpha (EXR RGBA, A = character matte), NOT baked into the archive background. Layers:
1. Archive Background (asset_origin archive or ai_enhanced)
2. Character Animation (ai_generated, with alpha)
3. VFX Elements (ai_generated, with alpha)
4. Color Grade (AGT-011 era LUT/CDL)
5. COMPOSITE (ai_composite) by human in Nuke/resolve
Why: provenance clarity, creative control, legal defensibility (show the unmodified archive plate), iteration speed (regenerate only Layer 2).

asset_origin

Every asset tagged: archive / ai_enhanced / ai_generated / ai_composite. Critical for rights management and IBC Accelerator transparency. Encoded in the filename field 5 (naming-schema).

“Ship of Theseus” rule

Enhancement ratio tracked - see bible 6.3 - so archive authenticity is never silently exceeded.

The shot list (45 shots, all “composite” kind) reflects this layered model.
RAI records on disk (IBC_AI clips, prob4_hyp1 frames) are the archive/AI test material this pipeline formalizes (see ai-generated-frames, ibc-ai-clips).
