unreal Render Pipeline (discrepancy)
An unreal project “Desert 5.8” rendered an 802-frame PNG sequence (“DesertSequence”) found on disk. EARLIER wiki pages treated this as the film’s desert/moon layer.
Discrepancy with authoritative data
The MovieLabs OMC export (Agent Production Bible v1, era look guide, shot list) describes the pipeline as archive + AI generation + human compositing, with NO unreal renders. The bible lists no unreal step; generation is done by Gen-Image/Gen-Video agents (AGT-002/003); the desert in sc04 is a consumer-VHS era, not a CG render.
Conclusion: the unreal “Desert 5.8” renders are likely an EARLY/parallel experiment NOT part of the authoritative production pipeline. Treat as low-confidence background material until confirmed.
Evidence on disk
- Project:
UnrealEngineProjects/Desert 5.8/ - Output:
Saved/MovieRenders/DesertSequence.0000.png->.0801.png(802 frames ~= 33s at 24fps) - See desert-5-8-renders raw note.
Notes
- Do NOT cite this page as the film’s render pipeline; the authoritative pipeline is ai-agent-pipeline.
- If the UE renders are confirmed as an early look-dev for sc04/sc05, move this page back to medium confidence and link the eras.
