AMD

AMD (Advanced Micro Devices) is a US semiconductor company. With HP it is listed as the FRAMES Participant “AMD/HP” (the IBC2026 press release writes “AMD-HP”) supplying hardware for the frames proof-of-concept one-small-crawl.

Role in FRAMES and One Small Crawl

  • Supplies the compute side of the production’s hardware kit; the crew’s consolidated order is the “AMD HP” hardware order coordinated by roberto-iacoviello under a June deadline and tracked with HP’s Rick.
  • The AMD Strix Halo processor powers the HP Z2 mini workstation that runs hollm for the IBC Accelerator FRAMES demo (see hp).
  • By the 27 Jul call the AMD machines had not yet been received, while HP had shipped the required laptop (see meetings).
  • The project runs on AMD hardware plus google-cloud and GDrive for storage and processing (10 Aug call).
  • The kit supports the AI-generation pipeline (ai-agent-pipeline).

Notes

  • The call notes never split AMD vs HP equipment in detail; Rick (HP) is the delivery contact on the calls.
  • See frames, hp, team, one-small-crawl.
